Respected Principal Sir, Teachers and My Dear Friends Good Morning to one and all present here,

As you know, today all of us here to celebrate the National Youth Day. January 12th is the Birthday of Swami Vivekananda being is celebrating as National Youth day. He was a symbol of “High Thinking and Simple Living”.

He is one of India’s greatest spiritual and social leaders. In 1984 the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day. Every year from 1985 this day is celebrated in India. National Youth Day creates awareness and provides knowledge about the rights of people in India.

Swami Vivekananda loved India very much. His message to the youth of India was “Be strong and fearless”. The day helps to educate people to behave properly in the country. The Government of India quoted that “The philosophy of Swami Ji and the ideals for which he lived and worked could be a great source of inspiration for the Indian Youth Day”.

Vivekananda fame helped him to establish the Ramakrishna Mission in many places. The Mission runs many schools and hospitals. It helps poor people in many ways.

The main objective is to promote rational thinking among the youth, believed to be the future of the country. On this day, youth is expected to rise to the values, principles and beliefs. He was also very brave. Because of his bravery and intelligence, he became the leader of his group of friends.

He saw hope for the future in every child and believed that with “Muscles of Iron” and “Nerves of Steel” they could bring about social change.

National Youth Day is also Famous as Yuva Diwas. He Believed education is the manifestation of perfection already in men.

Swami Vivekananda was a great inspiration for all youth. I wish you a Happy National Youth Day to All.

Good Morning Respected Principal Sir, Teachers and All my Dear Friends.

Today, we all are here for the occasion of National Youth Day. With all the joy, I am going to present my speech on National Youth Day.

Swami Vivekananda one of the greatest personality and spiritual leader of India is well known for shaping our nation. Every citizen of India must be aware of his teachings and contributions to the nation, who once said,

“Arise, awake and stop not Till the Goal is reached”

My heartiest greetings to the Honorable Chief Guest, Respected Principal Sir / Ma’am, all the teachers and everyone present here. My name is Chetan. Now, I would like to present a speech on Swami Vivekananda, One of the greatest soul and spiritual master of India.

Swami Vivekananda whose real name was Naredranath Dutta, was born on 12th January, 1863 in Calcutta. His father, Viswanath Dutta was an attorney at the Calcutta High Court. And his mother Bhuvneshwari Devi, was a religious woman. His mother took an important role in shaping Vivekananda’s thinking and personality.

Swami Vivekananda educated himself thoroughly on Indian Philosophy and religion. Swami Vivekananda was always interested in finding the deeper meaning of life and eventually he became the chief disciple of of the 19th Century Indian mystic Shri Ramakrishna.

From his Guru Shri Ramakrishna he learnt that – We could only serve God, by serving humanity around us. Swami Vivekananda also preached the same and his teachings has great impact on society and traditions of India. The teachings of Vivekananda were inspired by the Vedas and Upanishads, Which were believed to be a great source of strength, energy and wisdom to the Indian Society.

Swami Vivekananda has introduced Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the western world. He became popular in the western world after his iconic speech in Chicago in 1893, at the conference of World’s first parliament of Religion, which started with opening remarks, “My brothers and sisters of America.”

His speech blew everyone’s mind. Swami Vivekananda also was the founder of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.

Swami Vivekananda believed that education is the key to better society. The great soul died on 4th July, 1902 when he was just 39 at Belur Math in West Bengal. He was not only an inspiration in India but in the whole world. He is a source of knowledge for all of us. We must try to inculcate his teachings in our life.

In his honour, we celebrate the National Youth Day, every year on 12th January.
