Respected Principal Sir, Teachers and My dear Friends. Good Morning to All
My Name is Chetan. I am from 12th Standard. I am going to speak about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj born on 19th February 1630. He was born in Shivneri Fort, in Junnar City, in Pune District. His father’s name was Chatrpati Shahajiraje Bhosale(छत्रपती शहाजीराजे भोसले) and his mother name was Jijabai Bhosale. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj founded the Maratha empire.
Hew was also called as “Shivaba” by his mother Jijamata. Jijamata taught Shivaji Maharaj to always fight for what right no matter what challenges your face. He always believed in equality and justice.
At the age of 15, he gathered trusted soldiers which was called “Mavlas” and pledged to establish the Swarajya.
The battle technique of Shivaji Maharaj was called Ganimi Kava. He introduced the collection of two taxes called the ‘Chauth’ and ‘Sardeshmukhi’.
He Introduced the concept of ‘Ashta Pradhan Mandal” (अष्ट प्रधान मंडळ) for administration of his kingdom where each minister has particular responsiblities.
On April 3,1980 Shivaji Maharaj died on Raigad due to Illness.
