Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026: CBSE Issues Guidelines for Schools | Activities, Dates & Participation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued Circular No. Acad-53/2026 dated 04 August 2026, directing all affiliated schools to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026. The nationwide campaign will be observed from 9 August to 17 August 2026 under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

This year’s campaign will also coincide with the third phase of the commemoration of 150 years of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’, encouraging students and citizens to strengthen their emotional connection with the Indian National Flag and promote patriotism across the country.

Objective of Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026

The campaign aims to:

  • Encourage every citizen to hoist the National Flag at their homes.
  • Develop a personal and emotional connection with the Tiranga.
  • Promote constitutional values, patriotism and national pride among students.
  • Increase awareness about the National Flag and India’s freedom movement.
  • Celebrate 150 years of the National Song Vande Mataram.

Activities to be Conducted in Schools

CBSE has requested schools to ensure the active participation of students, teachers and parents by organizing the following activities:

1. Hoist the National Flag

Schools should encourage students and their families to hoist the Tiranga at their homes while following the Flag Code of India.

2. Upload ‘Selfie with Tiranga’

Students, teachers and parents should be motivated to upload their Selfie with Tiranga on the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal.

3. Special Morning Assembly

Schools should organize special assemblies highlighting:

  • Importance of the National Flag
  • India’s Freedom Movement
  • Patriotism and National Values

4. Organise Patriotic Programmes

Schools may conduct:

  • Flag Hoisting Ceremony
  • Collective Singing of Vande Mataram
  • Patriotic Songs
  • Group Singing Competitions
  • Cultural Programmes
  • National Unity Pledge

5. Learn the National Song

Students should use the educational resources available on the Har Ghar Tiranga Portal to learn and become familiar with the National Song.

6. Tiranga Exhibition

Wherever feasible, schools should display the Tiranga Exhibition available in the download section of the official portal.


Submission of Activity Report

After conducting the activities, schools are requested to upload:

  • Brief Activity Report
  • High Resolution Photographs
