Respected Principal Sir/Madam, Hon’ble Teachers, Dear Guests, and My Dear Friends,
A very good morning to everyone.
Today, we have gathered here to celebrate the Foundation Day of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, observed every year on 5th August. This day reminds us of the visionary dream of providing quality education to talented children from rural India, irrespective of their economic background.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti was established in 1986 under the National Policy on Education. The vision behind this remarkable initiative was of Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the youngest Prime Minister of India, who believed that every child deserves equal opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. Today, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas have become symbols of excellence, discipline, and holistic education across the country.
A Navodaya school is much more than a place of learning. It is a family where students from diverse cultures, languages, and traditions live together, learn together, and celebrate the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.” Along with academic excellence, Navodaya emphasizes sports, cultural activities, leadership, environmental awareness, and moral values.
