How to Participate in RRR Theme Song Contest Government Competition 2023

Reuse and upcycling of common household goods have been an integral part of Indian culture. Taking a cue from this shared habit, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) campaign – ‘Meri LiFE, Mera Swachh Shehar‘ is launched to champion the RRRs of waste management- Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi’s Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) encourages individual and collective action towards the same, which aims to protect and preserve the environment and bring about a pro-planet behavioural change that can be instilled through individual steps in day-to-day life.

This nationwide campaign aims to highlight cities to set up ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) Centres, one-stop collection centres, for citizens to contribute clothes, shoes, old books, toys and used plastic to be reused or recycled.

The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, is committed to inculcating planet-responsive habits among the citizens. One crucial habit is practising RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) by ensuring our extra clothes, footwear, books, toys, gadgets, etc., are either further reused or recycled, and we thus reduce waste going into landfills. This will directly contribute to the vision of ‘Meri LiFE, Mera Swachh Shehar‘ (My Lifestyle for the Environment, My Clean City).

MyGov in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) hosts a contest on MyGov Platform with an aim to tap into citizens’ creativity and skills in visualization, writing, composing, and singing the theme song, and in the process, reach out to fellow citizens and motivate them to join the people’s movement for garbage-free cities.

The Call to Action in the composition (RRR Theme Song) will be the following:

  1. Promote the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) habit.
  2. Highlight the benefits of RRR habit (When we practice RRR, we contribute to making our cities clean and garbage-free, including contributing to the wellbeing of our environment).
