Online Training on “Virtual Labs for Teaching, Learning and Assessment” 2022
NEP-2020 has recommended creation of virtual laboratories so that all students have equal access to practical and hands-on experiment-based learning experiences. Policy has also suggested content creation of virtual and augmented reality so as to help students understand concepts in a better way by visualizing them.
Experiments or laboratory work are vital for learners. They are useful in understanding the theories and concepts of science or other subjects that cannot be studied only by textbooks. Though, there is no substitute to direct hands-on experience of a physical laboratory, virtual laboratory has the great potential to enhance actual laboratory experiences. Virtual reality resources increase interest, add fun, help to understand difficult concepts, make learning engaging by being in virtual spaces to learn the concepts in a simulated environment.
