Respected Principal Sir, Teachers and My Dear Friends Good Morning to All.
A Population is the number of people that live together in a certain place. The population is unevenly distribute around the globe.
It aims to raise awareness about population growth and its impact on Sustainable Development. Access to healthcare and family planning is crucial for managing population growth. Empowering Women and girls with education and rights helps in controlling population growth. Sustainable development goals include achieving universal access to reproductive health services. Even person has the right to make informed choices about their reproductive health. Over population can strain resources like food, water, and energy, affecting everyone’s quality of life.
Addressing Population challenges requires collaboration and innovative solutions. Educating communities about the benefits of smaller families contributes to sustainable development.
This day, World Population Day is an annual event, observed on 11th of July every year which seeks to raise awareness of Global population rise or change. The event was established by the governing council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989.
World Population Day aims to increase peoples awareness on various population issues such as the importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty elimination maternal health and human rights, fatal effects of overpopulation are the depletion of Natural resources degradation of environment, rise in unemployment, highly modern lifestyle, pandemics and water shortage etc.
The global population is currently over 10 billion and continues to grow. Sustainable development goals emphasize the importance of addressing population issues for a better future.
The theme for World Population Day 2025 is “How to Safeguard the Health and Rights of Girls and Women?“. This theme focuses on addressing issues related to maternal healthcare, reproductive rights, and women’s empowerment.
However apart from this threats, this day should also be looked at as an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of brotherhood. On this day, one must realize the responsibility you have towards all living beings.
