Speech on World Day Against Child Labour – 12 June 2025

A very awesome morning to respected Principal sir, Teachers, and my dear friends. My name is Vedant Darji and today I am standing before you to present a speech on Child Labour, one of India’s burning issue which needs our attention and focus.

Before beginning I have a small question to as you, that is…

“Have you ever come across children working in factories or small hotels to make living?

It is really a shame to see such children working when they should actually be at school concentrating on their studies.

In this speech about Child Labour I would like to say..

Child Labour in India an alarming problem, Children deprive of their happiness in their childhood as their parents put them to work due to their poverty because they don’t have other choice.

Child Labour destroys a child’s future by affecting him, physically, mentally and literally.

World Day Against Child Labour; Every Child is entitled to Education!

Children are the purest of souls and are undoubtedly our Future. When every child should be privileged to receive education, it is despairing to see many out there, forced into labour or made to work out of their way, which is to study and be better citizens for tomorrow.

This problem has not seen solved so because poverty and illiteracy and lack of knowledge in their parents is adding fuel to this issue. To improve this condition, first we need to inspire their parents by creating awareness about literacy.

Theme of 2025 – Progress is clear, but there’s more to do: let’s speed up efforts!

This World Day against Child Labour, let us raise our concern and awareness about the exploitation of children and their childhood and we ask you all to discourage Child labour and report about it, whenever you come across. Let us stand for our underprivileged children!

Conclusion – Finally, I conclude my speech by saying – “Any hotel or factory should not be a child’s workplace instead a school must be a child’s any workplace.”

Thank you all.
