Celebration of Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav 2025
The annual week-long celebrations honouring the birth anniversary of Mahakavi Subramania Bharati shall commence on 4th December 2025. The celebrations will culminate on 11th December 2025, marking the observance of ‘Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav 2025’. This Utsav is a tribute to the timeless contributions of Mahakavi Subramania Bharati and aims to promote respect for and understanding of India’s linguistic richness.
The theme for this year, “Many Languages, One Emotion,” beautifully captures the unity, shared identity, and collective cultural spirit that connect India’s diverse linguistic traditions.
Schools may organise cultural programmes, competitions, and educational activities based on the theme of the Utsav from 4th to 11th December 2025. These activities aim to:
- Enhance students’ appreciation of Indian languages and literature.
- Promote the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat by encouraging the learning of an additional Bharatiya Bhasha.
- Strengthen national unity through cultural understanding and linguistic inclusivity.
- Support the national vision of building a multilingual and knowledge-driven society
A concept note and a list of suggestive activities are enclosed at Annexure-1 for reference. Schools may customise them as per their context and may also observe the following day-wise themes:
