SUNDAY/HOLIDAY:
Wake up before 7:00 am, clean the premises of dormitory, plantation etc.
8:00 to 9:30 am breakfast
10:00 AM to 12:00 AM study hours.
Rest of the day, you are free, most will play, some meet with parents, some watch TV.
There are several things/responsibilities that students need to fulfill. They are performing in daily prayer, serving food in lunch and dinner, cultural activities on the last night of their responsibility period. Usually this period is of one month, with four houses.
There will be an inter-hall athletic meet in January for 2 days. Games held all over the year. Cluster meet of games between 8–9 JNVs. Next level is regionals between all JNVs of a region. Next nationals and SGFI.
There will be a migration in 9th class where 33% of the class was chosen. Migration from a non-hindi state to hindi state and vice-versa.
Alumni program, ganesh puja, functions on other important days, rallies in villages to create awareness on several issues etc. etc.
You never get such friends, such an interaction with teachers, seniors and juniors, leadership skills, opportunities to develop in any field.
Life in NAVODAYA is golden period for any NAVODAYAN.
