Competition Commission of India (CCI) has been established under the provisions of the Competition Act, 2002 (Act). Its objectives are to eliminate practices having adverse effect on competition, promote and sustain competition in markets, protect the interests of consumers and ensure freedom of trade in markets in India. The Act also mandates the Commission to undertake advocacy i.e. to create awareness and impart training on competition issues.
As a part of its advocacy initiatives, CCI announces the organization of an ‘Online quiz on Competition Law’ to be held on the MyGov platform from 15th November, 2021 to 30th November, 2021. The objective of the Commission is to create broad-based awareness of Competition Law in India and generate interest in the nuances of the law among the stakeholders.
CCI encourages wide participation from residents of India (aged 18 years and above as on 31st October, 2021) in the quiz, which features attractive prizes for the winners. The event will be held as a part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, which is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
